I’m writing this as if to be the same day it happened, but it was actually 3 days ago. Both of my parents own used clothing/consignment stores in Vermont. I never thought I would be involved with retail while I was growing up. But recently I’ve changed my tune. A few weeks ago I wanted to buy my fathers clothing store, Battery Street Jeans in Burlington Vermont from him. He couldn’t imagine selling anything to any of his kids, so that was a no go. My mother owns Camille’s Experienced clothing in Rutland Vermont. My parents each run their shops very differently differently. My goal is to take the best aspects of each store, put it on the Church Street Market Place, be successful and have some fun.
